Hello, and welcome to my blog covering technology and consumer electronics news, views and IT security information. The site is a collection of articles, news and information that I find interesting, and I hope you will as well.

I’m an IT consultant by profession and work in the UK specialising in Microsoft based infrastructure solutions. However, I’m a recent convert to using Ubuntu, co-author of the Using Ubuntu Linux book published by Babani Publishing, techinical editor of Pro Windows Powershell book published by Apress, and a Formula 1 fan.

I hope you will find the site of interest, and if you have some news, a web site or article that you think I might find interesting then please feel free to contact me, Jon [at] JonRolfe [dot] com. Alternatively you can leave a comment below.

I have been using the Debian linux version, as a fix to Windows issues, and in particular, a response to the Vista issues.

Someone pointed me to http://www.goodbye-microsoft.com. Half the systems here are now converted.

Pleased to meet you. I should have done a Google search on myself long ago, I guess!

Hello fellow namesake and thanks for dropping by. I think we might have bumped into each other (virtually) several years ago.

I’m glad to hear your a fellow Linux user - Ubuntu is also based on Debian Linux. Although I can’t be too hard on Windows as it is how I make my living over here in the UK. But it is refreshing to use something else occasionally, hence my humble little Ubuntu book.
